Wolf Quest is a chance to mark something that needs marking, to remember what needs remembering. It is shorter than a full vision fast, but a potent step towards the full ceremony.
Sometimes a small wildling voice keeps on at you, whispering – occasionally shouting – of the need to attend to something of deep importance for your soul. This call to mark something within yourself or within the constructs of your life is worth listening to. It might be that you yearn to call something new into your life, or to put something old and no longer needed to rest, or to mark a change in how you walk in the world. The wildling voice is yours alone, but it speaks to the rest of the Earth and it behoves us to make time for the earth to hear us, and to hear what may be spoken back.
Many cultures over long time frames have held ceremony with the land in order to facilitate this conversation and mark changes in life stages. We are continuing in the footsteps of much wisdom and deep nature connection. Not, hopefully, in an acquisitive way but rather with deep respect for who has been before, humility of what we are trying to re-member in our fractured culture and trust in the simplicity of going onto the land with open hearts.
This Wolf Quest is a chance to mark something that needs marking, to remember what needs remembering. It is shorter than a full vision fast, but a potent step towards the full ceremony.
Both Chris and Rebeh have completed WildWise’s ‘Bringing the Bones’ training course. These teachings hold the bones of how this ceremony will be held but there is also a strong influence from the Animas Valley Institute and our own self-directed ceremony experience.
We are excited to have found a way of bringing something close to both our hearts into the wider world and it is our privilege to offer this beautiful process to those of you called to attend this programme.
