This is a 2 day (16hr) course combining Unit 1 for the Emergency First Aid At Work and Unit 2 for the Outdoor Incident Management. It is a environment specific, hands on and practically based course.
It is suitable for those involved in Environmental Education such as Forest School Teachers, Outdoor Activity Instructors (as a requirement for keeping ML,SPA and BCU qualifications in date) and those interested in being able to respond to those ill or injured in a potentially remote situation.
The course will include: Incident procedure, Airway management, Heart problems, Circulation problems, Head, Torso and Limb Injuries, Medical Emergencies, Environmental concerns, Cold and Heat injuries, First Aid kits and PTSD.
Course leader
Hugh Bourne: an experienced & qualified Outdoor First Aid Trainer with MSc in Wildlife Management, an Advanced Certificate in Deer Management, a PGCE, First Aid Trainer in Outdoor, Forest School and Paediatric as well as FAW and EFAW courses
