This programme invites you into the wild sanctuary of the temperate Atlantic rainforest on Dartmoor, for an immersive trail designed to help us remember and reconnect to our deepest dreaming for ourselves and the world.
We will take a compass bearing from the deeper listening and attention we give to the ‘wild others’ that lie in wait for you in the wild valley. This is the kind of wayfinding that does not involve map-reading, more allowing yourself to follow whatever animal might be living in your chest.
Together we will both create and discern the disturbance in the field that our souls are longing for. Be warned, this is a certain kind of trouble-making which may well disrupt your everyday life and expectations. The process we will invite in, is based on amplifying this disruption, placing a trust in your capacity to find your way to a deeper stride into the Mystery, a pathway that usually leads to more meaning and purpose and a greater capacity for loving the world in your very particular way.
Together we will drop into the dreamstream to call on the magik and mystery of the Dream Maker, and the nightworld dreams they are gifting us. Drawing on nature-based parts work, cross-pollinating IFS (Internal Family Systems) with Bill Plotkin’s Wild Mind map of the psyche, we will support these nightworld dreams to deepen and expand you into more of what Life is longing for through you right now.
We will lean into the practice of the Way of Council to deepen our conversation with the world, and each other. We will open our portals of perception to harness the mysteries of the Art of Mirroring, cracking us open to the Love-infused co-liberatory truth of truly belonging, to ourselves and the wild world web of Life.
This path of Mirrors and Dreams is both alluring and edgy, enlivening and ecstatic. Take note, life may well never be the same again through you – which may of course be exactly what you are looking for.
There will be solo wanderings with the land, wild conversations with both humans and non-humans, ceremony and time spent with the wild river, the night, dreamwork, mythic movement, free-writing, song, story and poetry. All our practices will shift consciousness, and invoke the deep imagination, bringing our own soul into dialogue with the Anima Mundi, the soul of the world.

CHRIS SALISBURY
Founder and director of WildWise Chris leads the year-long programmes, Call of the Wild, Holding the Tail of the Wolf and Tending the Green Fire. Author, trainer, storyteller and proud father of 4. With a background in the theatre, a training in therapy and a career in environmental education he uses every creative means at his disposal to encourage people to enjoy and value the natural world. He has worked with Ray Mears, John Rhyder, Joseph Cornell and Steve van Metre, amongst many others. He is also a professional storyteller aka ‘Spindle Wayfarer’, and is the founder and Artistic Director for the Westcountry Storytelling Festival. Chris is also trained as a Be the Change facilitator and offers symposiums for interested groups.
CLAIRE MILNE
Claire works with Starter Culture, a small collective she co-founded that offers soul-centric depth-journeys supporting cultural change-agents to compost Modernity, and its power-over underbelly, in service of radical inclusivity, and more creative and transformative participation within the wider web of Life. In wild reciprocity with our more-than-human friends and allies, Claire’s work supports the resourcing that’s needed to harness the creative potential of the Great Unravelling upon us, and to co-create the Earth-centric relational cultures the world is longing for through us.
Claire was formally very active as a professional global social justice campaigner for various international NGOs, including Global Justice Now, War on Want and Sustain: the Alliance for Better Food and Farming. She also lived and worked at Ecodharma for 3.5 years, an off-grid, land-based community and education centre in a wild and remote part of the Catalunyan Pyrenees where she co-designed and facilitated inner-led retreat-based programs for activists. Claire was also Inner Transition and Healthy Cultures Coordinator for Transition Network, at an international level, and played a key role in the organisation’s transition from hierarchical to collective-decision making.
Claire’s current work with Starter Culture, cross-pollinates a variety of lineages, including many years training as a soul initiation guide with Animas Valley Institute and over a decade being deeply immersed in Embodied Awakening and trainings in IFS (Internal Family Systems), Work that Reconnects, cultural somatics and Process-Oriented Psycho-therapy.
Her work tends the threshold between decolonising at depth, ancestral healing and soul initiation as a co-weaving of the personal and collective, inner and outer, past, present and future. As a wild ally to all those and that which are marginalised, Claire weaves webs of ancestral grief, Love and longing between the worlds, diving as deep as the heights that she soars. A full kit list will be provided in the joining instructions after booking. Participants will be camping using their own tents. Tents can be hired at a nominal rate if helpful.
You will need to bring:
- Tent & sleeping gear (bag/mat/pillow etc)
- Clothes for all weathers (ideally layers) include waterproofs and sturdy footwear
- Torch & spare batteries
- Note book & pen
- Food for lunches & snacks
- Water bottle
The modules will take place at Lower Meadow, our private wild meadow site near Newbridge on Dartmoor.
Detailed joining instructions including directions will be provided.
- Food – breakfasts & suppers are included. Participants will need to bring food for lunches.
- Diets – we can offer vegan, vegetarian & gluten free options. Participants will need to provide food for any other special dietary needs
