Overview

Join us for this special camp – a two day deep exploration of birdsong, voice and story and a special opportunity to build a deeper connection with birds. In this course participants will spend time in nature, learning the language of birds with the RSPB’s Tony Whitehead, finding our own voices, and listening to stories and song that will build a life-long bond with our feathered companions.

There will also be time to explore our own feelings about birds and the natural world, our own tales of hope in a time of loss, culminating in a “Conference of Birds” on the final afternoon (a special ceremony based on Joanna Macy’s “Council of All Beings”).

WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?

  • everyone who is interested in getting more acquainted with birds, and birdsong ;
  • everyone who likes stories!
  • suitable for adults and older children (14 years and above)

WHAT WILL YOU GAIN?

  • a knowledge of Dartmoor birds, their behaviour and biology and their calls and songs
  • a deeper affinity and understanding of our feathered friends.

The weekend is led by storytellers and authors Lisa Schniedau and Chris Salisbury and birdsong specialist Tony Whitehead.
